Dominica’s Cocoa industry continues to export raw cocoa

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Reginald Thomas says Dominica’s Cocoa industry continues export of raw cocoa and the import of finished cocoa products.

The Ministry of Agriculture held a handover ceremony of the research findings on types of Cocoa trees in Dominica conducted by the Caribbean Agriculture Network.

Speaking at the ceremony, Thomas highlighted the importance of the Cocoa plant to Dominica’s Agriculture ecosystem.

He says despite challenges in the Cocoa industry, the Ministry continues to push for its development.
