Dominicans Urged To Take Preventative Actions Against Non-Communicable Disease.

“Early Diagnosis saves lives”. That’s the Motto of the Dominica Cancer Society as it battles to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.

Speaking at the society’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday, Medical Director at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital and Obstetrician, Dr. Ruby Blanc says most cancer patients seen in Dominica, are often discovered in the final stages of the disease.

She says this is a troubling fact, as many of these cases could have been prevented or treated through early testing.

She noted, there are many facilities available to Dominicans, which are part of preventative care for cancer and many other non-Communicable diseases.
