Women and youth in Dominica are down to benefit from the five-year Sustainable Agriculture in the Caribbean Project.

WUSC Caribbean (Dominica) Inc. is the locally registered representative of World University Service of Canada (WUSC). WUSC is a Canadian non-government organization that works to create opportunities for education, employment and empowerment for under-privileged youth and women.

At present, WUSC Caribbean is beginning the implementation of a five-year project – the Sustainable Agriculture in the Caribbean (SAC) project, which will promote climate resilient agriculture for equitable economic growth to increase the economic prosperity of women and youth (female & male) in more sustainable agricultural markets in the Caribbean.

The project builds on learning from the Promotion of Regional Opportunities for Produce through Enterprises and Linkages (PROPEL) project and is a multi-country economic growth project, funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) being implemented in Guyana, Dominica, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and Suriname.

A capacity-building training session for Women and Youth Fresh Herb Producers will be held today, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Goodwill Parish Hall from 8:30am.
