Dominica Government Continues Negotiations for International Airport

The Government of Dominica is continuing negotiations ahead of the construction of an international airport.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says his government is close to signing a financing agreement for the project.

Mr. Skerrit addressed a Dominica Labour Party Rally in Antigua on Sunday, telling the audience, “…we are very close to signing the final agreement for the construction of an international airport in the Wesley constituency.”

“We are discussing details of proposed financing packages… We are locked in negotiations with other major players in the aviation business as we as with all serious and able financors of such a project,” he said, promising to deliver a project product to Dominica that will be “practical and affordable to operate and maintain.”
