President of the Dominica Cycling Association Ronald Charles has called for Dominican drivers to treat cyclists as they do any other motorist using public roads.

This follows an incident along the Canefield highway recently in which a cyclist was knocked down, and sustained significant injury.

Charles says cyclists should always wear protective gear but cautioned motorists to be mindful of the cyclist’s right to use the roadways.
