Dominica Welcomed The MV Nieuw Statendam Of Holland American Line
Dominica welcomed the MV Nieuw Statendam of Holland American Line earlier today Tuesday March 22, 2022. This will be the ship’s only scheduled call to the island for the 2021/2022 Cruise Season.
The MV Nieuw Statendam measures 299.75 meters in length and has a carrying capacity of two thousand six hundred and sixty-six passengers.
The Ship’s Captain Eric Barhorst remarked this is a positive sign for improvement within the cruise and tourism sector.

Since the resumption of cruise calls in July 2021, the island has received a total of one hundred and fifty-seven cruise calls as of March 7th, 2022, translating to over one hundred thousand cruise passengers to the island’s shores. The island is scheduled to receive approximately two hundred and seventeen cruise calls during the 2021/2022 Cruise Season.
