Dominica has claimed the top position on Time Magazine’s list of World’s Greatest Places Of 2023.
The list features their annual listing of 50 extraordinary travel destinations around the world.
To compile the list, TIME solicited nominations of places—including countries, regions, cities and towns—from its international network of correspondents and contributors, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences.
Minister for Tourism Denise Charles says this accolade highlights the successful collaborative efforts of stakeholders that make-up the tourism industry in Dominica and the government which has helped rebuild demand for the destination.
The List also features the Caribbean’s longest hiking trail – the 115-mile Waitukubuli National Trail as well as the newly created Waitukubuli sea trail where Kayakers can spend a week exploring the entire length of the island’s calm Caribbean coastline, paddling past dramatic cliffs and snorkeling hidden coves, or just do portions.
