Dominica to call for removal of US Trade Embargo on Cuba at UN General Assembly today
Foreign Minister Dr. Kenneth Darroux will call for the removal of sanctions on Cuba at the UN General Assembly later today.
The Foreign Affairs Minister will also support a motion to nominate Cuba for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Dr. Darroux says Multilateralism will be the focus of the UN General Assembly, and believes this emphasis provides an opportunity to commend countries such as Cuba which provided key medical support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meantime, the Dominica Reparations Committee is supporting calls for the lifting of trade restrictions on Cuba.
Chairman of the Dominica Reparations Committee Dr. Damien Dublin says Cuba has made its mark in health services around the world.
