Dominica to benefit from 3 million pound contribution

Dominica is to benefit from a 3 million pound contribution by the United Kingdom to the Pan- American Health Organization (PAHO) to assist eight Caribbean Countries in containing the spread of COVID-19.

This financial contribution from the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) is in addition to US $9.9m already provided by the UK Government to support PAHO’s response strategy to COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean.

PAHO said on Friday that the funds from DFID will assist Caribbean countries to access critical medical equipment and other urgent supplies for the immediate health response to COVID-19.

Other countries to be assisted are Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
