Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says Dominica stands ready to assist St. Vincent in the event of a volcanic eruption there.
St. Vincent has been placed on high alert for the imminent eruption of La Soufriere.
At today’s post-cabinet media briefing, Prime Minister Skerrit said he has been in constant communication with St Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.
He said government has already identified areas where Vincentians can be housed if necessary and his government would underwrite the cost.
St Lucia has already offered to assist Vincentians who may need to be relocated temporarily.
Over 10,000 people live in the evacuation area.
