This May, Dominica observes local government month under the theme Strengthening Community Resilience through Local Government.
Minister for Community Development Roslyn Paul says Dominica’s local government scheme has much to be proud of including the re-establishment of the Salisbury village council in March.
Paul is urging local village councils to ensure the needs of their residents are met including the most vulnerable among them.
As government continues to invest in building resilience on the island, Minister Paul is calling on village councils to practice good accounting measures to ensure all funds are accounted for.
Meantime, with less than thirty days to the start of the Atlantic Hurricane season, Minister Paul took the opportunity to caution families and caregivers to act swiftly to ensure those within their care are protected during that time.
