Dominica observes 2 days of mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
The Government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II who died on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
In a show of appreciation and respect for the life and contribution of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Dominica will observe two days of national mourning on Monday, September 12 and Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
As a further mark of respect, flags on all public buildings in the state will be flown at half-mast on the days of mourning.
The honorable Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit in a radio statement Friday morning said that Dominica will join the British people in mourning her loss in respect of the great relations which Dominica has shared with the United Kingdom and, as a member of the Commonwealth.
