The establishment of trade depots in some of our neighboring islands is being seen as a move in the right direction as Dominica seeks to increase a trade presence in the regional market.
That’s according to Minister for Trade Ian Douglas who believes, this will lend to Dominica solidifying its trade links and to grow its market share in regional trade.
His statement comes as he addressed the opening of the Business-to-Business forum held here recently.
Douglas said that government is committed to ensuring that economic activity remains steady and continues to grow and, is doing what is necessary to ensure that producers across all sectors remain viable, which in turn will make a positive impact on economic life in the country.
Minister Douglas said that a team of market researchers will shortly be visiting some of our neighboring islands to hold discussions with partners in these source markets.
