Dominica Joins the Region in Observance of Emancipation Day

The annual observation is August 1st, where Chairman of the Dominica Reparation Committee, Dr. Damien Dublin, says shackles slavery was uprooted from reality of the time. In reading a statement from the chairman of the  CARICOM reparation Commission Sir Hillary Bekels, he said that observing the day is still necessary in today’s society.

Dr Dublin added from the statement that as descendants, that as a people, the efforts of ancestors must be remembered.
