Dominica has initiated a number of protocols in regards to improving immigration policies which can be used as templates in further dialogue to enhance the movement of people throughout the region.
That’s according to Minister of National Security and in-coming Chair Rayburn Blackmore in an address to the Second meeting of Council of Ministers on Immigration in the OECS, which opened in Dominica this morning.
Minister Blackmore states the platforms and mechanisms are here, which can be used to build on in order to have a more robust border security network.
Blackmore says this second meeting of the council of Ministers is testament to advancing and furthering OECS integration on immigration matters but believes however that notwithstanding the tremendous work that has been done over the years, there remain some legacy issues which must be dealt with frontally as a council and as a Sub Region.
