Dominica is currently hosting the OECS U report campaign platform as they seek to engage youth across the region for increased awareness in youth engagement in the regional development process.
National Youth Council President Ashma Mc Dougal says representatives from across the OECS are on island to start the increased awareness and engagement campaign of the OECS U report platform, which will engage youth in data collection and analysis.
Miss Mc Dougal believes that policy is driven by evidence and information, without which policy frameworks will not meet the desired targets to suit the needs of young people.
Miss McDougal says Dominica is part of the research of a subcommittee which is currently drafting an OECS youth strategy which focuses on seven pillars.
Miss McDougal says such findings emphasize the need for participation and collaboration across the region in data collection recognizing that there is an absence of research in this area so as to make informed decisions where matters concerning and affecting youth are concerned.
