Dominica exports 1000 pounds of fish to neighboring islands
1,000 pounds of fish was exported to neighboring islands from Dominica’s shores last week, with another shipment to be exported this week.
That’s the report of fisheries officer Wynonna Joseph who this week highlighted the continued work of Dominica’s fishers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Joseph says there is no shortage of fish in Dominica, with fishers bringing in catches daily at all landing sites.
She says the Fisheries Division continues to facilitate the registration of vessels during the pandemic, and in collaboration with fishers here, facilitates the export of fish.
According to Joseph, more youth are expressing interest in fishing. She encouraged new fishers to register with the Fisheries Division through mobile services.
