The Dominica Calypso Association has awarded several individuals and organizations who have contributed to the development of the art form.
The DCA held its Awards and Prize Giving Ceremony on Saturday night at the Goodwill Parish Hall.
President of the DCA Davidson Observer Victor told the ceremony the association was pleased to be able to give back.
“Whatever form, it comes from our heart and we give it because we appreciate whoever contributes to the development of calypso and work with us to see that calypso will continue to have a presence in our lives.”
Among the awardees were Pat Aaron, Dennison “Dice” Joseph, Huguette Andrew, Father Eustace Thomas, James Harris, Bertrand Bruney, Emanuel “Haxey” Salamat, Ann Marie Clarke, Flow and Heineken.
Kairi FM was also among radio stations recognized for its contribution to calypso.
