The Dominica Labour Party unveiled a new team for the December 6 general elections dubbed “Labour’s Team for These Times’.
Led by Prime minister Roosevelt Skerrit the new team includes ten fresh faces to the political arena alongside ten experienced politicians who stand ready to usher in a new era for the island.
The New Candidates are: Roland Royer for Cottage,Lakeyia Joseph for Paix Bouche, Julian Defoe for Petite Savanne, Miriam Blanchard for Roseau North, Dr. Cassandra Williams for La Plaine, Lynsia Frank for Salisbury, Daren Pinard for Colihaut, Fenella Wenham for Portsmouth, Daron Lloyd for St. Joseph, and Cassani Laville for Mahaut.
Returning Candidates are: Dr. Vince Henderson for Grand Bay, Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite for Roseau South, Gregory ‘Karressah’ Riviere for Marigot, Greta Roberts for Grand Fond, Fidel Grant for Wesley, Cozier Frederick for Salybia, Denise Charles for Soufriere, Dr. Irving McIntyre for Roseau Valley, Melissa Skerrit for Roseau Central, and Octavia Alfred for Castle Bruce.
Prime minister Skerrit believes these candidates will form the perfect team to lead Dominica at this time.
The DLP leader says with this new team he is preparing the party to carry on the mandate set out for the country and his eventual departure from politics.
