Director of Telecoms Bennet Thomas Advisement on Online Transactions

Director of telecoms Bennet Thomas is advising persons to be very careful when shopping or doing business online.

He says the same principles that are followed on regular basis when person do business such as ensuing the store owners or vendor has the license to operate should be applied when doing business transactions online.

He was part of a panel on the importance of ICT and how it fits into e-commerce and online commerce. The discussion formed part of activities to mark consumer rights day March 15th.

Thomas says however there is an issue of accessibility and affordability of Internet service on the island and that creates a setback for getting to do business effectively.

Thomas says persons should be careful with the people they do business with online.
