Dominican Jorvan Kerwin Jno Baptiste will hit the stage as contestant number five in the Mr. Caribbean pageant set for June 2 in Tobago.
The show, which got its start in Dominica with Maria Antoinette Mora as director, will see 9 contestants from across the region vie for the title.
Following the show’s official launch on Monday, Jno Baptiste told Kairi News he had decided to participate in the pageant to honour the memory of his mother and to gain more experience as a trainer for contestants here.
He said he would also use the opportunity to promote Dominica as the ideal tourist destination for visitors.
Jno Baptiste is from Portsmouth and is currently the Events Assistant at the Dominica Festivals Committee.
