DASPA ends training for 21 security officers

Twenty-one (21) security officers are now better trained to strengthen the existing detection techniques which are utilized at the ports of entry here.

This follows an Insider Risk Workshop organized by the Dominica Air and Sea Port Authority (DASPA) to strengthen its security.

At a closing ceremony held Friday, Chief Executive Officer of DASPA, Benoit Bardouille said DASPA takes pride in ensuring that its security staff are properly trained – consistent with the ICAO standards.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Public Works and Ports, Denise Edwards, in her comments, commended the port management for undertaking preventative measures to strengthen security within the civil aviation sector.
