DACPA Takes Steps Towards Building Climate Resilience With Green Wave Project

The Dominica Arts and Crafts Producers Association (DACPA) has taken an initiative toward building climate resilience through the Green Wave project.

Recognizing the impact of waste disposal, especially during disasters on women’s hygiene, the DACPA, in collaboration with “D’Antilles et D’Ailleurs” in Martinique, established a sewing workshop, where eight (8) women were trained in sewing and eventually began producing hygienic pads under the brand “Made in Women”.

President of the DACPA Vanessa Winston says, producing these washable sanitary napkins, will assist in reducing the environmental issues of safe disposal of sanitary napkins.

In highlighting the features of the new products Winston said, these sanitary napkins will begin at the introductory price of sixty dollars.
