Cruise Vessel “Viking Sun” Makes First Call to Dominica
Dominica welcomed the Viking Sun of Viking Ocean Cruises to its shores on Friday.
The vessel arrived at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth with a total of 930 cruise passengers.
To welcome its passengers and crew members and to also commemorate the ship’s first call, a ceremony was held aboard the ship this morning where a plaque depicting Dominica’s National Bird, the Sisserou Parrot, was presented to the ships’ captain.
The call of Viking Sun marks the first (1st) of four (4) inaugural cruise calls which Dominica expects for the 2019/2020 cruise season.
Altogether, total of 157 cruise calls are projected for the 2019/2020 cruise season which translates into a total of 288,037 cruise passengers.
