KAIRI NEWS – Anthony Scotland, Secretary of the Dominica Consumer Rights Protection Program declared World Consumer Rights Day a success in Dominica.
The exposition held showcased a number of businesses, who featured their consumer-friendly products, including DOMLEC, Flow and International Regulatory Commission to name a few.
Mr. Scotland stated that consumers can look towards the Consumer Rights Protection Bill being enacted by the Government of Dominica in the near future.
He went on that the Bill will include all the consumer rights that the Dominica Consumer Rights Protection Program has been advocates for.
They include: The right to safety, the right to be informed, the right to choose, the right to be heard, the right to redress, the right to consumer education, the right to a healthy environment and the right to satisfaction of basic needs.
The bill is expected to revise some poor consumer practices such as withholding a refund from a customer and not providing receipts.
