Construction work at the New National Hospital has been placed on hold.
Minister for Health Dr. Kenneth Darroux says although the hospital was being built to withstand hurricanes, Hurricane Maria has made it imperative that the designs of the new hospital be reviewed.
Darroux is however assuring Dominicans that the construction of the new Marigot Hospital is still on the cards as the government awaits the final designs.
Meantime, Dr. Darroux says the construction work on the start of the art La Plaine Health Centre is nearing completion.
