Challenges in Securing Hurricane Shelters for 2018 approaching Hurricane Season

Acting Local Government Commissioner Glenroy Toussaint said there are challenges in obtaining suitable hurricane shelters ahead of the 2018 hurricane season.

He said that following an assessment it revealed that says over 50% of the hurricane shelters were impacted by the passage of Hurricane Maria.

Toussaint said that since some of the shelters are still being repaired they will not be utilized for the 2018 hurricane season.
