Minister for Kalinago Affairs, Cassius Darroux has said it is the right time for more mechanisms to be put in place to ensure that facilities are available for persons living with special disabilities and also for persons living normal lives.
The Minister made these statements at a welcome ceremony on Saturday morning at the Ferry Terminal on the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard.
“If mechanisms can be put in place especially for those with disabilities, and those without disabilities then we would be better able to not only do good things for ourselves but we would be able to put this dot on the map to say that this is Dominica this is not the Dominica Republic and i believe with these individual they have done their part in terms of marketing dominica.”
He continued that in spite of the many things heard about Dominica this one is positive and should be supported and motivated.
Darroux also mentioned that the Government is to invest in a special sports facility to accommodate swimming and other sports in Dominica. He stressed the importance of these activities and infrastructure in the country in order for them to be readily available to sports men and women.
