Canadian Firm to Assist in New Hospital Services Transition

Dominica has secured the services of a Canadian firm to assist with the transition of services from the Princess Margaret Hospital to new facilities of the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital.

Dr. Irving McIntyre, the Dominica Labour Party candidate for the Roseau Valley, told the DLP rally in Antigua on Sunday that the firm will help with the provision of quality service at the new facility.

He said InterHealth, Canada, an international provider of healthcare services, will be contracted for consultancy services in the transition of services from the old Princess Margaret Hospital to the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital.

McIntyre also revealed that the Pan- American Health Organization (PAHO) presented a legislation proposal which highlights the need for Health Services to be managed by a Health authority and board of directors. McIntyre believes this will promote improved efficiency and accountability at the new hospital.
