The Dominica Bureau of Standards officially opened its Northern branch today January 20, in keeping with the implementation of the fresh produce quality control act No. 2 of 2009.
This office will serve to accommodate the urgent need of clients in the Portsmouth area and ease the hassle of these clients commuting to Roseau.
Trade Minister Ian Douglas says this new branch is not only a sign of commitment but one of progress.
The minister went on to emphasize the significance of the new facility and shared his expectations for the future.
He encouraged Dominican farmers to take advantage of the new regional market for passion fruit and to expand the country’s market potential.
