Government has taken the modernization of the justice system a step further by amending legislation that will facilitate an E-Filing system for Dominica’s Courts.
Minister for National Security Rayburn Blackmoore says the filing system is called the E-Litigation Portal, and was introduced to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in 2018.
Blackmoore said the implementation of this portal here will eliminate the need for filing court documents on paper, and will allow for court fees to be paid without a postage stamp.
Blackmoore highlighted previous efforts here to modernize Court payment schemes.
He says with the latest legislative amendment, citizens can pay fees using credit cards.
