Bannis Calls For Greater Respect For Dominican Sportsmen

Her Excellency and Ambassador to the United Nations, Loreen Bannis-Roberts shares her concerns about employers who refuse to excuse employees chosen to represent Dominica in sporting events.

Bannis-Roberts says when a citizen is selected for national play, it makes them an ambassador to Dominica, and with that comes a certain level of respect.

She emphasizes the importance of sports tourism and the impact it can have on one’s country.

Bannis-Roberts stated set protocols should be created for these situations and went on to call for discussions to be held between sporting associations and the Government.
