Ava Mc Intyre-Roach the former social worker and child’s right activist will be laid to rest today.
Roach passed suddenly last week after a brief illness.
She served as Chief Welfare Officer in Dominica and Director of Chances, a home for disadvantaged children.
Her brother, Government Minister Dr. John Collin Mc Intyre spoke to Kairi News while preparing her final resting place at the Roseau Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday.
” Ava was a loving lady, loving woman from a very tender age she had this love in her, which you know you’re hearing so much about it now so definitely she impacted a number of lives in general but in particular children”
Her brother spoke of her having a very special love for marginalized and children with special needs.
The funeral service for Ava Mc Intyre Roach takes place at 3 pm at the St. Gerard’s Chapel. Viewing precedes at 2:30.
