A St Elizabeth man, who was out on bail in connection with a major gun seizure in St Catherine, is now back in police custody after he breached his bail condition.
Winston ‘Puna’ Ellis was held in the parish while driving a motor car.
It’s reported that when Ellis appeared in the Gun Court in Kingston in relation to the seizure he was offered bail with one of the condition that he should not visit St Elizabeth.
It was suspected that the guns and ammunition which were allegedly found in his possession were destined for sale in the parish.
On June 26, members of the St Elizabeth Police were on patrol when they signalled the driver of a car to stop.
The driver was identified as Ellis and the police determined that he was in breach of his bail.
He was taken into custody and during a search of the car, a small quantity of ganja was allegedly found hidden inside the vehicle.
He was subsequently arrested and charged.
Ellis appeared in the St Elizabeth Parish Court on Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to possession of and dealing in ganja and was fined $8,400 or 10 days in prison.
