Agricultural Students At The Dominica State College To Gain Experience In Crop Production And Marketing.

World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Caribbean, The Ministry of Blue and Green Economy, Agriculture and National Food Security and the Dominica State College today launched the Mentorship/Volunteerism Program for 2022.

This six-week Mentorship Program seeks to equip 19 DSC agricultural students with hands-on experience in crop production and marketing. Students will also benefit from planned study tours and field trips where they will be exposed to new and emerging agricultural technology.

President of the DSC, Dr. Donald Peters says Volunteer work and Internships are now critical elements in career development. He stated, having that sort of experience is an advantage when seeking for jobs.

Meantime, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Blue and Green Economy, Agriculture and National Food Security, Dr. Kyra Paul is urging students to take the Mentorship seriously and to see it as an investment opportunity.
